作品简介

《汤姆·索亚历险记》是美国文学大师马克·吐温的长篇小说代表作。小说主人公汤姆·索亚天真活泼、敢于探险、追求自由，不堪忍受束缚个性、枯燥乏味的生活，幻想干一番英雄事业。小说通过主人公的冒险经历，对美国虚伪庸俗的社会习俗、伪善的宗教仪式和刻板陈腐的学校教育进行了讽刺和批判，以欢快的笔调描写了少年儿童自由活泼的心灵。本书以其深具地方特色的浓厚幽默和对人物的敏锐观察，一跃成为最伟大的儿童文学作品之一。

 

作者简介

马克·吐温（Mark Twain，1835-1910），原名萨缪尔·兰亨·克莱门，美国作家、演说家，“马克·吐温”是其笔名，原是密西西比河水手使用的术语。马克·吐温是美国批判现实主义文学的奠基人，一生创作了大量作品，体裁涉及小说、剧本、散文、诗歌等各方面，以幽默和讽刺见长。代表作有《百万英镑》《哈克贝利·费恩历险记》《汤姆·索亚历险记》等。

他们回到宿营地，神清气爽，喜笑颜开，只觉得饿得不行，很快就生旺了篝火。哈克在附近找到了一眼泉水，清澈透明。他们用橡树和野胡桃宽大的叶子做了几只杯子，喝起了泉水。只觉得那水带有一种野生树木的香甜，足可与咖啡媲美。乔在为早餐忙着切咸肉，汤姆和哈克让他停会儿，三个人一起到了河边一个很有希望钓到鱼的地方，抛出了钓鱼线。很快就有了收获。乔的兴致还很浓，可他们就停止不钓了，带回去几条漂亮的鲈鱼、两条翻车鱼，还有一条小鲶鱼——多得足够一家人饱餐一顿。他们把这些鱼与咸肉一起煮着吃，结果让人惊呆了，想不到鱼的味道竟这么鲜美。他们不懂得淡水鱼越新鲜下锅，味道越好的道理；他们也没有想到，这是露天睡眠、露天运动、游泳和狠狠饿了一场所带来的好处，这些无异是在鱼里又添加了一种鲜美的作料。

They came back to camp wonderfully refreshed, glad-hearted, and ravenous; and they soon had the camp-fire blazing up again. Huck found a spring of clear cold water close by, and the boys made cups of broad oak or hickory leaves, and felt that water, sweetened with such a wild-wood charm as that, would be a good enough substitute for coffee. While Joe was slicing bacon for breakfast, Tom and Huck asked him to hold on a minute; they stepped to a promising nook in the river bank and threw in their lines; almost immediately they had reward. Joe had not had time to get impatient before they were back again with some handsome bass, a couple of sun-perch and a small catfish---- provisions enough for quite a family. They fried the fish with the bacon and were astonished; for no fish had ever seemed so delicious before. They did not know that the quicker a fresh water fish is on the fire after he is caught the better he is; and they reflected little upon what a sauce open air sleeping, open air exercise, bathing, and a large ingredient of hunger makes, too.

They lay around in the shade, after breakfast, while Huck had a smoke, and then went off through the woods on an exploring expedition. They tramped gaily along, over decaying logs, through tangled underbrush, among solemn monarchs of the forest, hung from their crowns to the ground with a drooping regalia of grape-vines. Now and then they came upon snug nooks carpeted with grass and jeweled with flowers.
